American Voting Machine Company 1913 (Maine)
Product Description
American Voting Machine Company stock certificate 1913 (Maine)
Great historical stock cert with nice vignette of a classical female figure seated on industrial machinery in front of factory and street car scenes. Issued and not cancelled. Dated 1913. The certificate is over 100 years old!
Because paper ballots offer ample opportunities, sometimes seized, for illicit creativity, Jacob Myers invented the mechanical lever machine, which was first used in local elections in Lockport, New York in 1892. The American Voting Machine Company set up shop before the century was out.
