Incorporated 1887, the Cyclone Novelty Company of 118 Lasalle in Chicago was formed to manufacture all kinds of household utensils and novelties. Some of their products included hotel and resort souvenirs such as pocket knives, spoons, boxes, and other customized items that bore the attraction's name. In preparation for Chicago's World Fair in 1893, the company produced various souvenir items for the exhibitors. Founders were John la Maxwell, D. McBevnolds, and George H. Harlow.
