First National Bank 1882 (Bath Maine)
Product Description
First National Bank stock certificate 1882
Very nice banking piece with a great vignette of two 1800's farmers flanking the state seal of Maine. Issued and cancelled. Dated 1882.
The Lincoln National Bank of Bath was chartered in Maine as the Lincoln Bank on June 15, 1813. It was later organized under an act of Congress on June 3, 1864 as the First National Bank (of Bath Maine). In 1911, it was consolidated with the First National Bank of Bath. Reorganized in 1983 into the First bath Corp which merged into Meridian Bancorp in late 1983 (later First Union, then Wachovia, then Wells Fargo of today).
