Air Investors Inc specimen stock certificate circa 1929 (Delaware)

Aviation Investing company. Impressive vignette of a vintage trimotor airplane and airship (dirigible) over an airfield and hangers. Flanking this center scene are an ocean liner with smoke stacks, trains, trucks, and a sailing ship. Specimen sample. Unissued and hole canceled.   Measures approximately 12 x 8 inches.  

Incorporated in 1929 when merged with the United Corporation. Changed name in 1949 to Century Investors. Merged with American Manufacturing Co. in 1960 which eventually liquidated in 1980.

Invested in diversified list of aviation securities, are concentrated in the hands of about a dozen companies in the 1930s and 1940s. It survived the downturn of the Great Depression with careful investing.
