Chicago, Burlington, and Northern Railroad Company was a small railroad that operated for a short period, from 1885 to 1899. Its routes ran across Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Successor of the Winona, Alma and Northern Railway, the Chicago, Burlington and Northern Railroad became part of the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad System. The Chicago, Burlington and Quincy was a railroad that operated in the Midwestern United States. Commonly referred to as the Burlington Route, the Burlington, or as the Q, it operated extensive trackage in the states of Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Wyoming, and in Texas through subsidiaries Colorado and Southern Railway, Fort Worth and Denver Railway, and Burlington-Rock Island Railroad.
