Columbia Steel Company was an American steel company, established around 1909 with a plant in Pittsburg, California. The company was acquired by U.S. Steel in 1930 and later merged with Geneva Steel to form U.S. Steel's Columbia-Geneva Steel Division.

Columbia Steel Company was established around 1909, opening a plant in Pittsburg, California. Iron Trade Review reported in 1917 that the company operated two plants—one in Pittsburg and another in Portland, Oregon. In early 1923, the company was reorganized as the Columbia Steel Corporation of San Francisco. In 1930, the company was merged with US Steel.

Pittsburg (Contra Costa County):
The company's primary California plant opened around 1910. It was an integrated facility that included open-hearth furnaces, sheet and wire mills, a foundry, and the West’s first tin-plate mill (opened in 1929).

Torrance (Los Angeles County):
In 1923, Columbia Steel acquired the Llewellyn Iron Works in Torrance. This facility focused on rolling mills and open-hearth furnaces.

San Francisco:
The company was headquartered at 503 Market Street and operated a sales office there. It famously served as a major contractor for the construction of the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge in the 1930s.

1922 Merger:
The Columbia Steel Corporation was formed by merging the original Columbia Steel Company with the Southern California Iron & Steel Company and the Utah Coal & Coke Company.

Acquisition by U.S. Steel (1930):
Following its acquisition, it operated as the Columbia Steel Company (a U.S. Steel subsidiary).

Columbia-Geneva Division (1952):
It later merged with Geneva Steel to form the Columbia-Geneva Steel Division of U.S. Steel.
