Pittsburgh gas company! Nice vignette of a classical female figure leaning on a pedestal and holding a torch. Unissued and cancelled. Dated 189_. Circa 1898 from company records (bond issuance). Measures approximately 12 x 8 inches.  

Consolidated Gas Company of the City of Pittsburgh was incorporated in 1898 to provide natural gas service to the city.

Duquesne Light Company bought Consolidated Gas Company of the City of Pittsburgh circa 1927 when it also bought the old Allegheny County Light Company.

Duquesne was a wholly owned by the Philadelphia Company (utilities holding corporation). By 1949, Philadelphia dissolved the Consolidated Gas Company of the City of Pittsburgh as an inactive subsidiary of Philadelphia Company (SEC records).
