Consolidated Railway $10,000 gold bond certificate c1910 (Connecticut) 

CT streetcar companies. Nice vignette of an electric trolley in a street scene with horses and pedestrians. Horizontal format. Unissued and not cancelled. Circa 1910 from bond text.   Vertical folds from storage. Measuring approximately 13 x 9.5 inches.  

The Consolidated Railway Company was formed in Connecticut in 1904 to take control of all electric street railways owned by the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad (New Haven). It was a shell company of the New Haven. It then acquired street railways throughout Connecticut, along with some lines in Massachusetts and New York. In 1907, Consolidated was merged into the New Haven. Consolidated Railway Company in Connecticut absorbed many smaller trolley into a large network, forming the basis for later transit in the state.
