Incorporated in 1967 in Delaware, the Eckmar Corp. was a specialty store, the only department store selling exclusively Christmas articles, all year round. It was known for selling a wide array of holiday decorations, including Shiny Brite ornaments and artificial trees, before diversifying into other industries. Through subsidiaries like Silvestri Art Manufacturing, Max Eckardt & Sons, and Flairtime, they distributed thousands of ornaments and manufactured items such as Holi-Gay aluminum trees.

They later diversified into furniture, swimming pools, and dental services. Eckmar Corp., New York, diversified manufacturer, in 1969, acquired Trans -America Film Corp., Los Angeles, distributor of films to theaters and TV.

Eckmar glass Christmas tree ornaments are collectibles to this day.

Corporate History:
Involved in acquisitions, including a 1969 deal involving Career Originals, Inc. and the creation of the Eckmar Career Corporation subsidiary.
