Empress Gold Mining Company stock certificate 1935 (Nevada - California)

Hardly seen NV-CA mining cert. Plain certificate with no vignette but interesting story of business in nearby California. Nice blue border and underprint.  Issued and not cancelled.  Dated 1935. Measures approximately 12 x 8 inches.

Empress Gold Mining Co., Ltd was incorporated 1931 in the state of Nevada (top text of certificate and company seal). The company was based in Reno, NV. It was not associated with companies of the same name in Maine and Canada.

The company took assignments for mining options and conducting operations, indicating they were active in exploring or working claims around Grass Valley, CA. The company had issues in completing agreed upon purchase prices of mining companies (reference: 1935 court cases where they worked through proxy buyers).

The Empress Gold Mining company changed to the Republic Gold Mining Company in 1935 and moved offices to Grass Valley, CA.
