Harvey-Elliott Mining  Company stock certificate 1880s (New York)

Maine mining stock certificate!  Nice vignette of an underground mining scene at center and a small Maine state seal at the bottom. Clean cert. Unissued and not cancelled. Dated 188_.  Incorporated in New York.  Measures approximately 9.5 x 6.5 inches.

The Harvey-Elliott Mining Company was an obscure, short-lived mining venture incorporated in New York in the 1880s. The company had mining claims in Hancock County, Maine. This area experienced a silver and gold mining boom in the late 1870s and 1880s, attracting many small operations. Mines located in Hancock County and offices in New York City. Believed that the mines and assets were sold in 1891.
