Pittsburgh area municipal hall. Stunning top vignette is an artists rendition of the hall and street scenes. At the bottom left, a farmer leaning against a post makes a great engraving. Issued and cancelled. Heavy vertical fold at center and staining at bottom. Stamp on vignette which is typical. Stamped instead of red corporate sela like earlier versions. Dated 1919. Measures approximately 12 x 7.5 inches.
The Millvale Hall Company was founded 1881 in Millvale, Pennsylvania, as a private corporate venture to finance and construct the community's municipal town hall. Operating roughly from 1884 through 1915, the organization used private capital stock shares to fund public infrastructure before modern municipal bond systems were standard.

Formed in the early 1880s during Millvale’s industrial growth era.
Purpose:
Built to provide a centralized public and administrative hall for the borough.
