Rochester Steamship Company stock certificate circa 1907 (New York)

Uncommon NY steamship company piece with a nice eagle vignette. Unissued and not cancelled. Small splits in the lower edge outside the border, light water stain in same area. Circa 1907 from incorporation.

Based in Buffalo New York, the company operated steam and cargo vessels in Lake Erie starting from Grand Island NY. The line hauled mostly agricultural products and livestock. The company operated through 1920 based on trade association information. Eventually merged with the American Steamship Cpany (now part of GATX).
