Silver Chief Mining Company stock certificate 1880's
Nice vignette of two miners working - one with a pick and the other pushing an ore pushcart. Unissued and not cancelled. Printed 188_ on the reverse.
Originally incorporated in Illinois, the company operated silver mines in the Volcano District of Idaho from the 1880's until 1903. The company held interest in other western state silver mines. The main minerals extracted were silver, gold, copper, lead, and zinc. Sometime before 1892, the company moved operations to Minnesota for either taxes or business concerns.
