Rare university social club from Philly. Plain but a desirable collectible. Issued and not cancelled. Dated 1937.
Established 1881 in Philadelphia, the organization was a social club of college and university graduates for advancing the interests of liberal education. According to membership lists, the mebership was mostly Ivy League grads (U Penn, Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Brown, Cornell, Yale) but also included a few members from other universities - Virginia, Maryland, Lehigh, William & Mary, USNA, Lafayette, Vermont, Jefferson, Delaware. The club had houses along Walnut Street with membership (about 1200) exclusively male.
