Toledo and Indiana Railroad stock certificate c1901 (Ohio)

Toledo streetcar RR. Great vignette of an American Eagle with railroad and river scenes in the background. Unissued and not cancelled. Dated 19__ but circa 1901 from issued examples. Measures approximately 11 by 8 inches.

Incorporated 1900, The Toledo and Indiana Railway (T&I) was a significant electric interurban railroad and power company from 1901-1939, linking Toledo, Ohio, with Bryan, Ohio (through Stryker, Holland, Wauseon, and Archbold)

The line served both passengers and freight, known for its early electric traction and eventual merger/control by larger entities, playing a key role in regional transport and electrification before the decline of interurbans

It operated a freight station at 714 Washington Street in Toledo. Eventually, in 1939, it became part of Toledo Edison. Streetcars were phased out with the rise of buses, trucking, and automobiles.
