Virginia Railway and Power stock certificate c1909 (Virginia)

Nice VA street railway piece.  Incredible vignette of two classical female figures seated around an electric generator; small streetcars to the left and right.Unissued and not cancelled. Circa 1909 from text. Approximately 12 x 8 inches.

The Virginia Railway and Power Company was an investor-owned company incorporated in 1909 that provided electric power, gas, and street railway services in Virginia. In 1925, it was purchased by Stone & Webster, Inc. and renamed the Virginia Electric and Power Company (VEPCO) to reflect a greater focus on electricity, and is now part of Dominion Energy.

1909:
The company was incorporated, providing electric power for the first time on a large scale in Virginia, along with gas and street railway services in the Norfolk area.
1925:
The company was sold to a syndicate led by Stone & Webster, Inc..
1925:
Its name was changed to the Virginia Electric and Power Company (VEPCO) to better reflect its role in the electric industry.
1983:
VEPCO's parent company, Dominion Resources, was formed, and VEPCO became a major subsidiary.
Present: The company is now known as Dominion Energy, with Virginia Power serving as its largest subsidiary.
