W. P. Chase Candy Corp. of New York stock certificate 1929 (New York)

Uncommon candy company stock,  Lady Liberty with shield and spear. Issued and stamp canceled. Dated May 10, 1929. Stamped corporate seal at the lower left indicates 1929 incorporation.  Measures approximately 11 x 8 inches.  

Little known candy company from New York. Incorporated 1929 per the seal on the certificate. Likely related to the WP Chase Candy Corp established in 1924 in New Jersey which produced "Chase's Domino Mints" in New York.

The product slogan was "A few Chase's Mints every day chases all indigestion away." (taken from an example card insert for the confection). Another company quote was "Chase's Domino Mints are strictly quality mints, and are in a class all by themselves - Not an ounce of glucose, starch, or other adulterants used, thus leaving no unpleasant after taste." Also: "Chase's Dominoes to those who discriminate." Put up in 5c  10c  and 25c packages. The company had touring Domino Girls to promote the mints. Domino Mints were made in four flavors, Including mint, cinnamon, clove, and wintergreen. 

A copyrighted photo shows the Brooklyn ten story factory with a billboard - Domino Mints "Sweet Adeline". Possibly a casualty of the Great Depression when confectionery items were hit hard during those tough financial times. Unknown if it merged with another company.
