Arkansas Valley Elevator Co. stock certificate circa 1875 (Kansas City MO)  

Uncommon early agriculture stock collectible.  Interesting offset vignette of an early grain elevator building.  Nice $100 green under print. Unissued and not cancelled. Dated 187_ on the back. Circa 1875 from company records.

Started in 1875, the Arkansas Valley Elevator Company owned grain elevators in Wichita, Bentley, and other nearby towns. The elevators were strategically placed for rail service. George H. Nettleton was the first manager of the company. It ran as a subsidiary the Atchison Company and was leased by the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad.
