Chenery Manufacturing Company stock certificate 1892 (Portland Maine)

Great collectible piece with an engraved vignette with an eagle perched on a globe with an American shield.  Issued and cancelled. Dated 1892. Nice company gold seal to the left.

Founded in 1892 by William M. Chenery in Portland Maine for the purpose of importing, manufacturing, and  dealing in cotton, woolen, and fancy goods.  William was president and his brother Edward was secretary.  The company made laces and embroideries as well as other clothing items for sale in Boston in New York.  Their product line included linens, gloves, hosiery and underwear, laces, embroideries, muslin goods, women's and children's dresses.
