It operated regional manufacturing plants (such as in Thurmont, MD), fulfilled military contracts, and merged into BSR Associates in 1981. Today, "Cannon" commonly refers to popular modern shoe styles like the bestselling espadrille wedge by Charleston Shoe Co. or the sustainable knit sneakers by Saola.

Closure:
Withdrew/merged out of active corporate existence in 1981. The company merged into BSR Associates.
