Incorporation:
Formed in 1892 to expand local transit options beyond Harrisburg into neighboring East Shore communities like Steelton and Oberlin.
Recreation & Parks:
The company notably developed a popular local resort and dance hall park near Enhaut, carrying crowds from Harrisburg and surrounding towns via its rail lines.
Consolidation:
Merged with the Harrisburg City Railway in 1895 to form the Harrisburg Traction Company (later evolving into Harrisburg Railways Company) but maintained the name for this extension.
End of the Line:
Streetcar service to Middletown officially concluded on July 16, 1939, when the final trolley run made its historic trip to Union and Emaus streets in Middletown before the system fully converted to buses.
