Tough to find oil piece! Classic vignette of a seated Greek male figure with scientific equipment, oil refinery and oil wells in the background.  Issued and cancelled. Dated 1970s. 3 colors available. Approximately 12 x 8 inches.

Halliburton is a multinational corporation and one of the world's largest providers of products and services to the energy industry, operating in the "upstream" oil sector. The company was founded in 1919 and provides services related to locating hydrocarbons, drilling, well construction, completion, and production optimization. Its operations are divided into two main segments: Drilling and Evaluation, and Completion and Production. Dual headquarters in Houston, Texas, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Halliburton's continuous focus on innovation began in 1919 with founder Erle P. Halliburton, a pioneer in oil-well cementing. Erle P. built a wooden mixing box and started his first oil well cementing business in Duncan, Oklahoma with borrowed wagon, a team of mules, and a pump. His first innovation: a new cementing technique that quickly became renowned in Texas and Oklahoma. Throughout his life, he patented 38 oilfield services and tools as well as other inventions.
