Mining cert with history! Nice triple vignette with miners running sluice boxes at the center, surface miners holding a large nugget to the left, and a single miner panning for gold to the right. Issued and not cancelled. Dated 1917. Measures approximately 10.5 x 8.5 inches.

Incorporated 1916 in Nevada, the Oro Belle Consolidated Mines Company was engaged in mining operations in the Hart Mining District of California.

Gold mining within the Hart Mining District of California traces back to the Hart gold boom of 1907. As gold booms go, the initial boom was a relatively short-lived cycle (1907 to 1918). During this period, at least three successful gold mines operated through 1918. Among these early and profitable mines were the Oro Belle No. 1 and No. 2 mines operated by James Hart and Bert and Clark Hitt brothers. They sold the mines in 1908, and Worth B. Andrews reorganized the operation under the Oro Bell Mines Company and later, the Oro Belle Consolidated Mines Company in 1916.

In 2022, the Equinox Gold Corp started a reclamation project at the mines at Castle Mountain due to the high price of gold.

Signed by Worth B. Andrews as president. Worth B. Andrews was a notable mining engineer and operator, known for being President of the Mining Society at school (likely Colorado School of Mines) and later signing as President for mining companies like the Oro Belle Consolidated Mines in 1917, indicating leadership in the mining sector, including oil operations, and a lasting career in mining engineering. He was a respected mining engineer and oil operator, active enough to be mentioned in industry publications like World Oil.
