Reiter-Foster Oil Corp stock certificate 1931 (Texas) 

Texas Oil! Fantastic oil field vignette with gushing oil wells, train, oil workers (roughnecks), and derricks. Issued and cancelled. Dated 1931. Vertical folds from mailing.  Measuring approximately 11 x 7 inches. 

In 1924 Wilhelm Reiter and William Henry Foster merged their companies (Foster-Reiter Consulting Geologists and the Reiter Oil Corporation) to form the Reiter-Foster Oil Corporation. The company had offices in Tulsa, Dallas (where Reiter made his home and had offices in the Magnolia Building,) and New York City.

Reiter-Foster Oil Corporation was a significant player in the early U.S. oil industry, particularly known for its role in developing major fields like Wyoming's Oregon Basin, involving key figures like geologist W.A. Reiter and attorney/conservationist Warwick Miller Downing.

The company was formed in 1924, though its origins trace back to earlier successful companies established around 1922.

The company had offices in Tulsa and Dallas, where co-founder Wilhelm Arthur Reiter lived, as well as New Jersey.
