In 1924 Wilhelm Reiter and William Henry Foster merged their companies (Foster-Reiter Consulting Geologists and the Reiter Oil Corporation) to form the Reiter-Foster Oil Corporation. The company had offices in Tulsa, Dallas (where Reiter made his home and had offices in the Magnolia Building,) and New York City.
Reiter-Foster Oil Corporation was a significant player in the early U.S. oil industry, particularly known for its role in developing major fields like Wyoming's Oregon Basin, involving key figures like geologist W.A. Reiter and attorney/conservationist Warwick Miller Downing.
