Awesome double vignette of a rural scene with people waving to a passing train at top center and a smaller scene at the lower left of steam train at a passenger depot. Unissued and not cancelled. dated 18__. Circa 1870 from corporate records. Measures approximately 10 x 7 inches.
The Wat-Chung Railway Company was a short-lived New Jersey railroad company, formed in 1870 and operating between Newark and Bloomfield, that was acquired by the New York & Greenwood Lake Railroad in 1893, and subsequently by the Erie Railroad in 1943.
