The Favorite Gold Mining Company was a Colorado-based mining firm incorporated in March 1894, operating in the Cripple Creek Mining District's Bull Hill and Battle Mountain areas in Teller County.  The company is listed in the 1900s official manual of the Cripple Creek district. It was part of the early mining boom, with records showing it was eventually deeded to W.S. Stratton.

Winfield Scott Stratton (1848–1902) was a Colorado gold miner, businessman, and philanthropist who became the first millionaire of the Cripple Creek Mining District. A carpenter by trade, he spent nearly two decades prospecting before striking gold at his Independence Mine on July 4, 1891. Stratton is famously known as the "Midas of the Rockies" for his massive mining success.
