Fiat Oil Company stock certificate 1904 (Arizona) 

Little known oil company with elaborate printed stock. Only one seen by this shop.  Vignettes include - main left image of oil fields, gold underprint at bottom of oil fields, upper right border image of old oil storage, right border image of gushing oil well, lower right border image of horses pulling oil cart, and lower left border image of a steam train.   . Issued and not cancelled. Dated 1904. Folds and splits at top and bottom. Measures approximately 11 x 8 inches.  

The Fiat Oil Company was incorporated in Arizona in 1900 with little corporate history but may have actually operated in Indianapolis Indiana which is noted under the company name on this certificate.

Arizona Corporate Registrations:
In 1904, the Territory of Arizona was a popular jurisdiction for out-of-state entities to incorporate speculative due to lax regulatory laws, which may be where the corporate association originates.

Maybe an early 1900s oil scam – who knows?
